RESULTS
How can I get the best results from my Smartphone Whitening Kit?
Great question! Here are some tips to help you get the best results from your Smartphone Kit:
Use the kit every day without skipping a day, for seven days.
For the most dramatic results, use the kit daily for 10–14 days without skipping a day.
Apply a thin, even coat of gel to all tooth surfaces that show when you smile.
To the extent possible, follow the White Diet for the entire length of your whitening treatment. This means avoiding foods, beverages, and habits that stain teeth such as coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco. If you need to consume any staining beverages, drink them through a straw.
Immediately after your last application, use the Remineralizing Gel to seal in results, lock out stains, and strengthen your enamel.
How long does it take to see results?
Most people see results after the first application! However, how fast you reach results will depend on several factors, including the kinds of stains you have, the porosity of your natural tooth enamel, and the length (in minutes) of each whitening application. Even the foods and drinks you consume before and after each application can affect your overall results.
We recommend following the White Diet as much as possible (avoiding things that stain teeth such as coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco) during the entire length of treatment and for 24 hours after.
How long will the results last?
Results typically last from at least 6 months to more than a year. A wide variation exists because people have different habits and different tooth enamel. The more staining foods and beverages one consumes, and the more they smoke, the shorter the duration of results. Other factors include how porous their teeth are and how many pre-existing stains they have.
The peroxide in the gel opens the pores in tooth enamel to penetrate to the dentin layer, where stains reside. However, this also makes your teeth more susceptible to new stains. Therefore, to seal your whitening results in and lock stains out, we recommend using the Remineralizing Gel included in the Smartphone Whitening Kit.
What can I do to make my results last longer?
We recommend the following steps to make your whitening results last as long as possible:
Follow the Divine White Diet during the entire teeth whitening treatment and for 24 hours after. In other words, avoid smoking, avoid foods and beverages that stain teeth, and avoid acidic foods and beverages.
Brush morning and evening with Divine White Aligner Cleaning & Teeth Whitening Foam. When used daily, this foam helps to oxidize stains before they can set in. It also contributes to cleaner teeth, fresher breath, and healthier gums!
Touch up on-the-go with a Divine White Teeth Whitening Pen. Keep one in your purse or pocket and use it after consuming staining foods and beverages. We included enough pens in the Smartphone Kit so you’ll have plenty left for touch-ups. You're welcome!
If you really want to keep your teeth white forever, use a straw to drink all staining beverages. (Some people actually drink everything through a straw and their teeth never get stained.)
How much whiter will my teeth be after using the Smartphone Whitening Kit?
Typical results are 5–15 shades whiter, but many people experience even more (depending on the teeth shade guide used). Please note that your teeth can only be whitened to their natural white, which is different for everyone.
Many factors can affect the outcome of your individual results, including pre-existing staining, how porous your tooth enamel is, consumption of staining foods and beverages, and smoking.
Do your whitening products work on veneers, bonding, etc?
Teeth whitening typically does not work on artificial dental work including crowns, veneers or composite fillings, UNLESS these have been actually stained. Except for that, the gel typically only whitens natural teeth.

SAFETY
Do your products cause tooth sensitivity?
Most people experience no tooth sensitivity, but some may notice sensitivity after several days of use. Fortunately, Divine White is one of the only companies that includes a desensitizing gel in its kit.
If you experience sensitivity, apply the desensitizing gel by itself onto your teeth for 10 minutes (wear the mouth tray to keep the gel in place). This should eliminate the sensitivity, and the next day you can resume your whitening treatment.
Are your gels safe to use at home?
Yes. We use the same whitening gel used by many dentists across America in their home whitening kits. The whitening ingredient is 36% carbamide peroxide, which is strong enough to give fantastic results yet gentle enough to avoid sensitivity for most people and not cause any damage to the enamel. We recommend consulting with your dentist before beginning any at-home teeth whitening treatment. Home treatments can carry minor risks if you have poor dental health, have had recent oral surgery, or are allergic to peroxide.
If you have very porous tooth enamel, you may experience whitening results faster than someone with stronger enamel. If you have cracks in the tooth enamel, any stage of dental caries, or very thin or porous enamel, you may experience tooth sensitivity from peroxide-based whitening gels. If this happens, discontinue use and see your dentist if needed. The remineralizing/desensitizing gel in our Smartphone Kit helps alleviate tooth sensitivity. As a general rule, we recommend no more than 14 applications per treatment and only one full treatment every 6 to 12 months. We also include remineralizing gel with our Smartphone Kit to replenish minerals and strengthen enamel.
If the gel remains on the gums or lips for a long time, mild and temporary irritation can occur, but it typically goes away shortly after you remove the gel. An allergic reaction to peroxide can manifest as burning of the gums or blistering of the lips, whether or not the gel touches the soft tissue. If this occurs, discontinue use immediately, rinse the area well, and consult your dentist or physician if desired. The most common recommendation for an allergic reaction to peroxide is to treat it the same way you would treat other allergies.
People with gum disease might experience irritation because their gum tissues are not healthy. Only use whitening products if your gums do not bleed when you floss.
Who should NOT use home teeth whitening products?
Do not use if you are pregnant or nursing, have poor dental health (such as decaying teeth, exposed roots, or gum disease), wear braces, have had recent oral surgery, or are allergic to peroxide. Home teeth whitening treatments carry minor risks, so you should consult your dentist before use.
Some people may experience temporary minor tooth sensitivity or gum irritation. This will usually disappear either within a few days after discontinuing use, by shortening the length of your whitening sessions, by increasing the time between sessions, or by using the Remineralizing Gel more often.
Is this safe for children?
We recommend that no children under 12 years of age use teeth whitening products. A child should have all of their adult teeth for at least one year before whitening. Baby teeth and newly erupted adult teeth should not be whitened.
Other factors to consider include the condition of the child’s teeth and gums, any allergies to ingredients in the whitening gel, and the type and strength of gel being used.
